Spending v Saving: Getting the balance right

I’m increasingly curious about my spending habits and I think the ‘Snoop’ about how my habits compare to other snoopers was particularly useful.

My three ‘red categories’, which put my spending at these retailers in the top 20%, show me where I could cut down and spend less!

Even more so, seeing a yearly figure for spending makes me realise how my contactless payments soon added up.

I’d been overspending on beauty, takeaway pizza and a well-known high street department store…

I’m not going to declare I’ll never shop there again - that’s just unrealistic - but I am going to choose wisely with what I buy and always see if I can get it cheaper or manage without.

Snoop Plus has helped me see exactly where my money has gone this month.

I created a one-off spending report for January and in a couple of clicks I saw I was spending less than my income and less than my average daily, weekly and monthly spend 👍

Better still, the report created the percentage of my spending in each category.

Show me your spending and I’ll show you what you value - this has been the case for me!

I’m getting the balance right for some things (home and family) but I can definitely be better with my savings habits.

Elsewhere, Snoop wouldn’t be Snoop if it didn’t show me how to get something for free or at a reduced price.

This month, I’ve saved on a greetings cards (Snoop knows I’m with Vodafone) and directed me to VeryMe rewards (I only had to pay postage). I’ve also benefited from free tissues, toothpaste and dishwasher tablets!

 See you next month!
